Arnold Schwarzenegger, during his term as governor of California,
spent time pushing respectful environmental laws, including the signature on a
bill that would allow the state to regulate greenhouse gases. But just because the
Governator was outwardly pro-efficiency, personal garage consisted of a diesel-guzzling
Hummer H1 engine, a Dodge M37 military truck, a giant 1,977 custom Unimog U1300
and a real tank.
Oh, and a Tesla Roadster. Because California.
To be fair, Schwarzenegger owned vehicles in recent years (excluding Tesla) fit your personality perfectly. His latest acquisition, tank M47 Patton II in which he made a video of himself crushing things, it is clear that not all cheap to run - especially when you insist on driving over the curbs, children's bicycles and giant eggs.
Something had to give: And so now you can buy from Arnie monster Unimog 1977 for $ 275,000. It has only 1,300 miles on the clock and is for sale in Germany.
That's a lot for one of the 70 trucks, but further inspection, is not a bad deal. Schwarzenegger reportedly bought for $ 250,000 gross customized back in 2012 could be a couple years older now, but Arnie has signed his name on the dashboard, so it's not that.
Under the hood is a 6.4-liter turbo diesel pushing 320 hp. You might think it's not a lot of power for a truck that weighs five tons, and you'd be right; Unimog tops out at about 60 mph. It is also not what one would call "fuel efficient" management only 12 mpg at a stretch. Still, it is likely that performs better than your tank. And it is more practical, with a full flat bed with a bench seat built by three. And yet almost certainly crush a lot of novelty items.
